TUSAYAN, Ariz. - Local author Patrick Whitehurst and Arcadia Publishing present Grand Canyon's Tusayan Village the newest addition to the popular Images of America Series. Boasting over 200 vintage images, Grand Canyon's Tusayan Village showcases the rise of this small village into the popular attraction it is today. With the glamorous Grand Canyon as its backyard, Tusayan has a fascinating history. Dedicated just one year after the Grand Canyon National Park, the village of Tusayan had its humble beginnings in 1920 as a small sheep ranch operated by the Hull brothers. Tusayan quickly became a hub for millions of travelers who made their way to the Grand Canyon each year. Patrick Whitehurst will be signing books at the National Geographic Visitor Center on Saturday from 1-3 pm. For more information contact (928) .638.2468.
