Scam reported using newspaper's phone numbers
The Williams-Grand Canyon News has received two phone calls from concerned customers reporting a telephone scam. The scam caller states they are a member of the staff of the Williams-Grand Canyon News and they are calling to update credit card information from the customer. According to one of our customers. the scammer was also able to falsify the caller ID to indicate the call was being made by the News.
Our paper does not make calls to update credit card information. If you receive a call such as this please make sure to report it. Do not give out your credit card numbers unless you are sure it is a legitimate call.
