John Weldon Johnson
John Weldon Johnson, 94, of Paris, Texas died on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010 at Paris Regional Medical Center-South.
Mr. Johnson was born Sept. 7, 1916 in Memphis, Texas to Herschell and Della Kilgore Johnson. He served in the U.S. Army Horse Cavalry and was a logger by trade. After his retirement, he worked for the United States Forestry Service.
He is survived by six children, Norma (Richard) Davis of Moreland, Ga., Darlene Thompson of Phoenix, Mark (Brenda) Johnson of Paris, Texas, Herschell Johnson of Williams, Peggy Johnson of Winfield, Texas, and John Paul (Sue) Johnson of Paris, Texas; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, J.W. Johnson; a daughter, Nadine Anderson; his first wife, Pauline Salazar; and his second wife, Alice Marie Johnson.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010 in the chapel of Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Brad Crosswhite officiating. Burial followed in Valley Memorial Park Cemetery in Coolidge.
