Los Hermanos offers more than Mexican fare
WILLIAMS - Los Hermanos offers more than just your run of the mill Mexican food.
Owned by brothers Cisco and Doni Leonet, Los Hermanos has become a regular stop for locals who are looking for some comfort food. Specializing in homemade Mexican, the brother's personal epicurean taste has been passed down from generations of good food.
"Our Mexican food is definitely 'gramma style.' It's old school. Everything we cook is fresh, nothing comes from the can," said Doni. "Our most popular item so far is our Carne Asada and definitely our stacked enchiladas. Those are fantastic."
According to Cisco, who is the chef, having a family-run business creates a harmonious work environment for the two.
"I love what I do. I love cooking for people and my brother Doni loves talking to people. So it works out," said Cisco. His brother Doni added jokingly, "I just make sure I don't stand in front of him just in case he gets mad and kicks me."
Although only open for eight months, the brothers are already planning for next year's menu, which would include rare culinary indulgences rarely seen in northern Arizona.
"Our dad's side of the family is from the Basque region of Spain, so eventually, we want to pay tribute to that by branching out into Basque food, which is near and dear to us, said Doni. "It is still in the works, but we will probably introduce the new menu options as specials, and see how it progresses. We hope to offer dishes like Paella, Croquetas, lamb dishes, and things like that."
On Sundays, Los Hermanos offers a football menu as well as their regular menu. They offer inexpensive and affordable specials on tacos and wings.
"Make no mistake, we sell the entire wing, not just the little pieces," Doni added.
Located at 106 S. Third St. behind the Sultana, hours are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Fridays they close at 9 p.m. They are closed Wednesday and Saturday. Delivery is available.
