Mardi Gras the theme of Rotary Holiday Dinner Dance
GRAND CANYON, Ariz. - Plans are well under way for the 2010 annual Holiday Dinner Dance sponsored by the Grand Canyon's Rotary on the Rim Club. This year's event will be held at the El Tovar Hotel on the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park. Organizers are planning a Mardi Gras theme for the 2010 event. "Mardi Gras Fun" is in honor of the Rotary International Convention, to be held in New Orleans May 21-25 of next year. This year's event begins at 6 p.m. and will feature music from the band Exit 64.
This fun-filled evening is the major fundraiser for the local Rotary Club, who uses these funds to provide humanitarian service in our local community, state, nation and worthy world-wide efforts like the eradication of polio, wheelchairs for the disabled, and clean drinking water in under-developed countries.
Come join in an evening filled with live music, terrific food, and fun for all. Participation will help the Grand Canyon Rotary Club and Rotary International provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.
The purchase of one dinner dance ticket or raffle ticket helps everyone. Dinner tickets are available from any Grand Canyon Rotarian. Tickets can also be obtained via e-mail through Dean Norris at Ddeannor@aol.com or Sharyl Allen at q2b2vv@yahoo.com. Dinner tickets are $50 each and only sold in-advance.
The Holiday Dinner Dance typically sells out in advance, according to organizers. Raffle tickets are also available from Rotarians or by emailing Norris or Allen. Buyers of raffle tickets need not be present to win one of over 50 luxurious prizes. Raffle tickets will also be sold at the Delaware North General Store inside the National Park beginning Nov. 15, at the Rotary table. Tickets will be available through Dec. 4.
