St. John's Episcopal Lutheran Church

Let these words be with you as we go through this week of introspection and meditation: "On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross, the emblem of suffering and shame; and I love that old cross where the dearest and best for the world of lost sinners was slain."

Maundy Thursday - a special Seder meal - begins at 6 p.m. tomorrow. This meal is a Jewish custom and portrays Jesus' Last Supper. Following the meal, there will be a short service.

A Good Friday service begins at 6 p.m. Friday.

An Easter Sunday Celebration service begins at 10 a.m. Sunday. Cindy Guld, the principal horn player of the Flagstaff Symphony, will be performing. Following the service, there will be an Easter Egg Hunt for all of the children. Everyone is welcome to attend.

• Adult Bible Study is held at 6 p.m. every Wednesday. Currently Pastor Tim is teaching through the Epistle of James.

• Youth night is held 6-8 p.m. every Thursday.

• Sunday morning service begins at 10:30 a.m. with nursery and kids church provided. Starting April 11, Pastor Tim is teaching a study on "A Man After God's Heart." Sunday evening service is at 6 p.m.

• Monday night men's and women's separate Bible Study begins at 6 p.m. Child care is provided.

St. Joseph Catholic Church

Community United Methodist Church

"The Best is yet to come" was Pastor Billy's message title Sunday. Palm Sunday is the start of Holy Week and there are celebrations this week with Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and ending with Resurrection Sunday. This will be a very busy week in the life of the church.

On March 26, 21 of our own congregation came out to help with cleanup projects around the church.Spring cleaning and repairs and even a new step at the kitchen door, and window cleaning were completed. The Lenten Bible Study will be held tonight, March 31, at 7 p.m.

Saturday, April 3, the kids will gather to color Easter eggs and decorate cookies. A mission trip to Luepp (sponsored by Faithworks) is set for Saturday, April 3. Ten volunteers from the congregation are planning to make a trip to the Navajo Reservation to provide a helping hand and do some repairs. Easter Sunrise Services will be held at Young Life Camp on Sunday, April 4, at 6 a.m.

The youth of the church will again be serving their annual pancake and sausage breakfast at 8 a.m. on Sunday. The donations raised are used to send the youth to summer camp. Following the breakfast the kids will hunt for eggs and then attend church with their families.

• Tuesday - 1 p.m., Not-Sew-Perfect Quilters.

• Wednesday - 7 p.m., Lenten Bible Study.

• Thursday - Maundy Thursday.

• Friday - Good Friday at the parsonage, 6 p.m., Passion of the Christ viewing.

• Saturday - 6 a.m., Luepp Mission Trip; and 10 a.m., egg coloring and cookie decorating.

• Sunday - 6 a.m. Sunrise Service, Young Life's Lost Canyon; 8 a.m. pancake breakfast; 9 a.m. egg hunt; 10 a.m. worship/young disciples church; and 11:30 a.m. fellowship.

Calvary Chapel Williams

This week's regularly scheduled church events include -

• Wednesday - Midweek study begins at 7 p.m. We are currently studying in First Samuel.

• Thursday - Junior and Senior High School Youth Group begins at 7 p.m. at the church.

• Sunday - Sunday worship service begins at 10 a.m. Pastor Mike is currently teaching through the Book of Acts.

• Tuesday - Ladies' Bible Study, "Women of the Bible," meets at 10 a.m. at the church.

Jehovah's Witnesses

The Jehovah's Witnesses warmly welcome you to their weekly Bible meetings:

• Thursday - Theocratic Ministry School, Congregation Bible Study, service meeting, 7:30 p.m., John 6:45.

All meetings are held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 5495 N. Sunset Strip, and are open to the public.

First Baptist Church
