Hathaway fills Ash Fork School Board vacancy
Appointment effective March 29

ASH FORK, Ariz. - Yavapai County School Superintendent Tim Carter is pleased to announce the appointment of Anne Hathaway, to the Ash Fork Joint Unified School District Governing Board. The appointment was effective March 29 and will expire on Dec. 31.

The vacancy is due to the resignation of board member Barbara Stump, because of health concerns.

"We sincerely appreciate Mrs. Stump's service to the school district," stated Carter "Mrs. Hathaway's experience as an educator, her previous work with governing boards, and her extensive knowledge of curriculum, instruction, school budgetary processes, and establishing short and long range goals should serve her very well in this capacity. She understands the role of the governing board and will work to balance the needs of students, parents, staff, and the taxpayer."

Hathaway has resided in Ash Fork for five years. She is retired, having served as a high school English teacher for 25 years in Virginia and Florida. She graduated from Southern Methodist University earning a Bachelors Degree in English and a Masters Degree from George Mason University in English and secondary education.

Carter accepted letters of interest from residents before conducting interviews. He then spoke individually with each of the elected members of the governing board, staff members, and several members of the community prior to making the appointment.
