Williams Church News: Week of July 28, 2010
Community United Methodist Church

Vacation Bible School "High Seas Expedition" was a great success. Crew Leaders had as much fun as the kids. Five nights of singing, snacks, crafts, and Bible lessons flew by. Thanks to everyone who helped. God Bless you one and all.

Pastor Bill's message title for Sunday was "You have heard it was said, Part 3" came from the scriptures Matthew 5:31-32. The community worship service was held at St. John's Episcopal-Lutheran Church on Sunday evening. It is wonderful to see the churches come together to meet and worship the Lord.

SIS will meet tonight, Wednesday, July 28, at 6 p.m. for Bible study. Liz Curtis Higgs' book "Really Bad Girls of the Bible" is the focus of this week's study. More lessons from less-than-perfect women. It has been a great study. You can join at any time. The sessions are separate studies, so you won't miss anything if you can't attend one lesson. The SIS business meeting will follow at 7 p.m.

The Not-Sew-Perfect Quilters need your help. If you sew-or-not you can join them on Tuesdays at 1 p.m. There are plenty of things to do to get things ready for the sewers.

Weekly fellowship opportunities include -

• Tuesday - 1 p.m., Not-Sew-Perfect Quilters.

• Wednesday - 6 p.m., SIS Bible study; 7 p.m., SIS business meeting.

• Sunday - 8:45 a.m. adult Bible study; 10 a.m. worship/Young Disciples Church; and 11 a.m. fellowship.

• Tuesday, Aug. 10 - 6:30 p.m., Administrative Council meeting.
