Taste of Williams returns
Popular local event to feature food, drinks, music and more
WILLIAMS - Those attending this year's Taste of Williams event will not only be able to sample some of the best food and drink in northern Arizona, but could win a new car.
Taking advantage of the events location at Elephant Rocks Golf Course, Planet Nissan of Flagstaff will give a new Jeep or Subaru to the first person to make a hole-in-one shot.
The hole-in-one contest is open only to ticket holders for the event.
Sue Atkinson, Williams-Grand Canyon Chamber of Commerce events coordinator, said participants in the contest will have one chance to win.
"You have one shot," she said. "We're going to do it off hole No. One. We're just going to move the tee box down to the middle of the fairway."
The Williams-Grand Canyon Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Elephant Rocks Golf Course this year in hosting the Taste of Williams. Taste of Williams will be held 5-8 p.m. Aug. 7 at Elephant Rocks Golf Course, 2200 Country Club Rd.
This food and wine tasting event includes close to 10 local restaurants along with artists and entertainers, and showcases the many talents and diversities of our Route 66 Community. Regional wineries offering tastings include Oak Creek Vineyards, Page Springs Cellars and Arizona Stronghold Vineyards as well as Williams own microbrewery, Grand Canyon Brewing Company.
"Each restaurant will have their own table set up and they will be interspersed among the different wineries," Atkinson said. "We'll have local artists displaying and selling their artwork as well as silent and live auctions."
Atkinson said artists have donated their work for the auctions and Elephant Rocks has donated foursomes of golf.
Kerri Lynn will provide music entertainment for the evening.
Tickets for the 21 and older event are on sale in advance for $25, or $30 at the door. Sponsors include Elephant Rocks Golf Course, Bearizona and Grand Canyon Railway.
