More snow on the way

GRAND CANYON, Ariz. - Wet, wintery weather is expected to continue throughout much of northern Arizona this week as storms continue to move over the area today through the end of the week. Snow and rain is called for today, with breezy rain and snow during the evening hours. Snow fall is expected to be heavy at times, according to forecasters with the National Weather Service. High temperatures will range between 39 to 49 degrees, with lows around 24 degrees overnight.

Snow and rain, heavy at times, is likely through Friday night. A 30 percent chance of rain and snow will continue through Saturday. The storm systems are expected to let up by Sunday, with mostly cloudy conditions and highs of around 34 expected. Ten to 16 inches of snow is predicted for Wednesday through Thursday. Total snow accumulation is expected to be between three to five feet.

Officials with the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) warned motorists to be prepared for winter driving conditions, and possible flooded roadways, if they plan to be on the road during the winter storms.
