Decision signed on range allotments

WILLIAMS - This month, Martie Schramm, Williams District Ranger, signed a Decision Notice re-authorizing cattle grazing on two allotments covering approximately 57,000 acres on the Kaibab National Forest. The project's purpose will be met by managing these allotments in a manner that meets Forest Plan objectives and desired conditions.

The Corva Allotment (13,285 acres) is located four miles west of Williams and north of Interstate 40 while the Double A Allotment (43,732 acres) is located nine miles northwest of Williams and north of Interstate 40.

The Corva and Double A Allotments Decision is open to administrative review and appeal. Those who participated in the comment period during the proposed action are eligible to appeal. Interest expressed or comments provided on this project prior to or after the close of the comment period do not have standing for appeal purposes. The appeal must be filed (regular mail, fax, email, hand-delivery, express delivery, or messenger service) with the Appeal Deciding Officer, Michael R. Williams, Forest Supervisor, Kaibab National Forest, 800 South Sixth St., Williams, AZ 86046, (Fax 928-635-8208). All appeals must be filed within 45 days of the legal notice publication.

If hand-delivered, the appeal must be received at the above address during business hours, excluding holidays. Electronic appeals may be submitted to: appeals-southwestern-kaibab@fs.fed.us (.doc, .rtf, or .txt formats only). The appeal must have an identifiable name attached or verification of identity will be required. Please put the project name in the "subject" line. Names and addresses of appellants will become part of the public record. A scanned signature may serve as verification on electronic appeals.
