Jacob-Ryan Environmental Assessment available for review 30 days

FREDONIA, Ariz. - The North Kaibab Ranger District has completed the Jacob-Ryan Vegetation Management Environmental Assessment Revision and the analysis is now available for public comment.

The document is viewable on the Kaibab National Forest web site at A 30-day comment period began Oct. 20. This project is subject to the appeal procedures set out at 36 CFR 215. Only those who submit timely comments will be accepted as appellants. In order to obtain eligibility to appeal, each individual or representative from each organization submitting comments must either sign the comments or verify identity upon request.

The revised environmental assessment was conducted to study the effects of implementing proposed actions developed for the Jacob-Ryan Analysis Area that include vegetation treatments and prescribed burning. The project area consists of approximately 26,000 acres located on the north central portion of the North Kaibab Ranger District.
