Letter: Habitat raising money for second home
To the editor:
The Grand Opry Night was a huge success with 160 people attending. Habitat for Humanity wants to thank all of those who attended. Also, for those who gave the raffle, auction items and cakes, including the Williams News for all the coverage leading up to this success.
The musicians were at their best, Lance, Joe and Linda Beavers, Jan Bardwell, Dave Martinez, Pamelia LaPaglia, Phil Sanzari, and Andrew, Luke and Angela Hamby. Thank you for providing the wonderful music.
With our community pulling together, $1,855 was raised helping to purchase materials for a new house next spring. Another success this autumn was the golf tournament sponsored by Habitat. This added $10,000 to the Habitat treasure. Melissa Mejia, the recipient of our first house, sponsored the softball and horseshoe tournaments and has received offers to provide much of the major labor on our second house.
Williams is a community that loves helping others. Habitat is thankful to be a small part of it.
