Tourism professionals sought for Rotary exchange visit to Australia

The Williams Rotary Club is seeking local applicants interested in traveling to Australia this fall for a Group Study Exchange. The trip, which is from Sept. 20-Oct. 20, will cover Rotary District 9710 - Australian Capital Territory and part of New South Wales.

Applications are sought for four team members and two alternates. They must be between 25-40 and not be related to Rotarians or Rotarians themselves. They must have two years of experience as a tourism and hospitality professional and be committed to remaining in the field. They must live or work in District 5490's area, which includes Williams, northwest Arizona and Needles, Calif.

Team members will participate in monthly training up to the departure date. Rotary International pays expenses. Rotarians host the delegates. Local hosting includes lodging, meals and group travel within the district. The trip is to study how their professions function in Australia. They will also develop relationships and exchange ideas.

The application is available online at http://www.rotary.org/RIdocuments/en_doc/161en.doc.

Grand Canyon Rotary will do preliminary interviews before forwarding applicants on.

Final interviews by the District GSE Committee will be held on Saturday, March 21.
