IRS offers Saturday hours March 21
Area taxpayers may be facing financial hardships and need extra help this year. As a result, the Internal Revenue Service is going the extra mile to help during these difficult economic times.
The Flagstaff IRS office - located at 1633 S. Plaza Way - will offer a taxpayer assistance center 9 a.m.-2 p.m. March 21. IRS employees will offer the following services -
Answering tax law questions and accepting payment;
Providing information about electronic filing thru IRS.gov (Free-File) and tax forms;
Working with taxpayers who are having a hard time paying their taxes, establishing payment agreements;
Making account adjustments and resolving tax issues (get a letter in the mail from the IRS?); and
Determining if a taxpayer qualifies for the Earned Income Tax Credit and if so, preparing and filing their federal income tax return electronically for free.
The services are available to all and walk-ins are welcome.
