Williams team stop at 16-2-1 for the season

WILLIAMS - The Williams Juniors little league team ended their regular season June 13 with a final record of 16-2-1. The team played their last regular game in Flagstaff, scoring a strong victory over the Flagstaff D-Backs with a final score of Williams 17, Flagstaff 7. Juniors pitcher Kohl Nixon finished his season with a final record of 9 and 1, according to Juniors Coach Herman Nixon.

"I am very proud of these young men who played their hearts out all season and thank the parents who traveled at least once a week to Flagstaff to support this team," Nixon said, adding that a number of Juniors players have been tapped to play in the Williams All-Stars. Players include Carlos Amavizca, Coty Baxter, Ethan Berry, Jordan Brown, Jorge Davalos, Blain Edwardson, Jacob Harner, Kohl Nixon, Jimmy Perkins. Joaquin Salaz and Adrian Solano.

Williams Junior Solano was 4 for 4 at the plate during their final game June 13. Players Nixon, Baxter, Berry, Salaz and Davalos were all 3 for 4 at the plate in the game. Williams will begin tournament play June 22 in Prescott when they take on Camp Verde at Kuebler Field. The game kicks off at 7:30 p.m.
