Crushing the opposition
Boys U5 soccer team is undefeated
WILLIAMS - The Orange Crush clipped the wings of the Flying Dragons during last Saturday's AYSO U5 soccer game.
The Crush cruised to a 13-0 rout. With Christian Santana netting seven more goals and Kadance Orozco and Jesse Sagor chipping in three apiece, the Williams kickers continued their unbeaten streak.
"These four little 4-year-olds are just awesome!" Coach Karre Jo Santana said. "They play well together and have really come together as a team."
The Orange Crush have three games remaining on their schedule, all in Flagstaff.
"I'm hoping they can continue their winning streak, because winning seems to make them feel so proud," Coach Santana said. "It is such an honor to be their coach. I have watched these four little individuals grow into fine young athletes and it brings me such gratification to watch them at each and every one of their games, the look on their faces is just priceless!"
While the team is loving every minute of this spectacular season, it is bittersweet for the coach.
"I was able to coach my grandson (Christian) and watch him grow into a fine young individual," Santana said. "With him moving to Texas, I won't get that opportunity again, so this year was very special."
