Leonard Joseph Bustillos

Leonard Joseph Bustillos, 59, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family.

He passed as a great man, and wonderful and loving son, brother, husband, grandfather, uncle and friend.

He was born Feb. 6, 1949 in Santa Monica, Calif. to Fred and Agnes Bustillos. A year later, they moved back to Williams along with Leonard's older brother, Fred Jr. The boys were not only brothers, but also the best of friends and that friendship and brotherhood only grew stronger as the years went on.

After Leonard graduated from Williams High School, he went into the service and went to Vietnam. After he returned from Vietnam, he worked for his father in Tusayan along with his brother, Fred, at the Shell Station. While living in Tusayan, Leonard also worked for the Forest Service, and then became a helicopter technician for Madison Aviation and then Airstar.

He moved to Hawaii and went to work for Blue Hawaiian Helicopters, where while working in Hawaii he met the love of his life, Renee. They married Sept. 6, 2004 and although their time together was short, their love for each other will live on forever.

Leonard lived life to the max. He loved the outdoors. Whether it was kayaking, fishing or just taking a cruise through the woods, he just loved being out around nature.

He is preceded in death by his father, Fred.

He leaves behind his mother Agnes; his wife Renee; his brother Fred (Pam); his sister Josie; and his daughter Bridget. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

He loved his family and always made sure that they were all happy. He was taken from us too soon, but our memories and the love that he left behind for us will live on forever. We wish him a safe journey. God bless and God speed, aloha.

A memorial service will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Williams. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the National Airedale Rescue, Inc. at www.airedalerescue.net/donate.htm.
