Wildlife Day will honor York
In honor of late Grand Canyon wildlife biologist Eric York and to raise awareness of wild America preserved in our national parks, the park will sponsor the first Celebrate Wildlife Day on Nov. 1.
Members of NPS, Grand Canyon Association and the Arizona Game and Fish Department, will host an open house at the Shrine of the Ages on that day.
It will feature displays, discussions on current research, live animals and other fun activities. In the evening, Kevin Hansen - author of "Bobcat: Master of Survival" and "The American Lion" - will make a presentation.
For more information, visit the park's Celebrate Wildlife Day Web site at www.nps.gov/grca/naturescience/wildlife-day.htm.
