Three School Board seats up for election
Filing period nearing
Along with the other choices on the November ballot, voters here will be selecting three candidates to fill four-year terms on the Grand Canyon School Board.
Terms for three members elected in 2004 - Clarinda Vail, Chuck Wahler and Emmons Berry - will expire on Dec. 31.
Packets with filing information and current forms for those considering running for one of those seats are available at the school's district office on 1 Boulder St.
Candidates must be registered voters with at least a year of residency in the district as of election day. Employees of the district or their spouses may not serve on the board.
Prospective candidates must collect a minimum of five signatures and no more than 400 on the nominating petition, from registered voters within the school district.
Paperwork must be submitted to the county between July 7-Aug. 8.
