Authors Ladd, Aitchison, to sign books
Event at First Friday Art Walk
Join Stewart Aitchison and Gary Ladd as they sign their newest books about the Grand Canyon published by the Grand Canyon Association for Flagstaff's First Friday Art Walk.
They will be at Mountain Sports Downtown, 24 North San Francisco St., on Friday, Aug. 1, from 6-8 p.m.
Stewart Aitchison is author of the newly-released "Grand Canyon's North Rim and Beyond," a guidebook to the lesser-known side of the Canyon.
Aitchison is a zoologist and geologist by training and a naturalist by passion. He has been exploring, photographing, teaching and writing about the natural world for 40 years, 10 of those as a field biologist for the Museum of Northern Arizona. Since 1981, he has been leading trips primarily for Lindblad Expeditions in the American West and all over the world.
Gary Ladd's newest book is "Grand Canyon: Views Beyond the Beauty."
He is an award-winning, free-lance large format photographer specializing on the wilderness interior of Grand Canyon, the surprisingly pristine sandstone landscapes surrounding Lake Powell and the slickrock terrains of Vermilion Cliffs National Monument. He is a Museum of Northern Arizona Ventures trip leader, former Sierra Club wilderness backpack trip leader, Arizona Highways photo workshop instructor, Grand Circle Field School and Grand Canyon Field Institute instructor and Elderhostel geology/photography instructor.
