Yoga for kids offered here

Trained yoga instructor Jennifer Allen hosts kids yoga workshops for grades one-four on Fridays throughout the school year. Classes meet from 9-10:15 a.m. at the Rec Center.

The next workshop is this Friday. Other dates are Oct. 26, Nov. 30, Dec. 14, Jan. 25, Feb. 29, March 28, April 25 and May 6.

Cost is $8 for one class, $28 for four classes, or $48 for eight classes. For more information and to register, call Jennifer at 638-3307.

Girl Scouts to meet Mondays

Girl Scout meetings are held on alternating Mondays at 3 p.m. at the Rec Center.

All girls ages six to nine are welcome to join the fun and make new friends.

Theater group holds auditions

The South Rim Theater Group will pay five actors $100 each for three performances of "Why Don't They Care What Happens To The Earth?" by Doug Bocaz-Larson. Contact Kim Loignon at kloignon@usa.com or phone George Costuck at 638-6564. The group meets every Sunday and Monday in the Rec Center Piano Room from 5-8 p.m.

Hikers to meet for symposium

The Second Grand Canyon Hikers Symposium will be held Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Shrine of the Ages. It's free and open to the public.

The gathering's purpose is to share hiking, climbing and backpacking exploits and explorations in the Grand Canyon, as defined by the geographical region from Lees Ferry to the Grand Wash Cliffs and from rim to rim.

The presentations will include day hikes, climbs and overnight backpacks on the corridor trails and surrounding area, historical trails such as the North and South Bass, Tanner, Grand View and any number of Grand Canyon routes.

Flagstaff vet to visit GC kennel

Dr. Fred Bush will be at the Grand Canyon Kennels on Tuesday, Oct. 23, between 12:30-2 p.m.
