Volunteers needed for AYSO soccer
Time is running out to register to play AYSO soccer this summer. The Williams League of AYSO will hold a few more live registrations to get kids registered to play this summer. Many volunteers are still needed as well.
"I'm still short coaches for some of the teams I have already assigned," said league president Karre Jo Santana.
If you are a parent who has registered your child or you would like to volunteer as a coach, please contact Karre Jo Santana or Cathy Grumbine. AYSO trains prospective coaches in Flagstaff on a Saturday before the season starts. The league will have another registration day Saturday at the Little League Field where some baseball games will be played that weekend.
"I'm hoping to get more kids registered showing up at the field for games," said Santana. "We will have a few more additional sign ups and then we will be ready to start the season June 11. We still are seeking volunteers to coach. We also are looking for more kids to make a U12 girls and boys division so if you know of any 10 and 11 year olds, spread the word. I have a lot of little kids registered. Now I'm looking for 8, 9, 10 and 11-year-olds."
Registration will begin at 10 a.m. and run until 1 p.m. at the little league field. Parents can register on-line as well at www.eayso.org. If you have any questions or would like to sign up as a volunteer come on out to the baseball field this weekend to register, or call Karre Jo Santana at (928) 635-2264 or Cathy Grumbine at (928) 635-0630.
