Photographer speaks on work with Navajo tribe

The Canyon Country Lecture Series, sponsored by Grand Canyon Association, continues at Grand Canyon, Prescott and Flagstaff.

On Wednesday, April 18, Northern Arizona University Cline Library, 6-7:30 p.m., "The Importance of Photography on NavajoLand." Award-winning photographer LeRoy DeJolie discusses how he uses photography as an aid to preserve and conserve the Navajo homeland where he grew up, as well as the traditions and memories that are quickly fading as the older generation passes on. He presents the same program in Prescott on Sunday, May 20.

Cline Library is at the intersection of Knoles Drive and McCreary Road on the NAU campus. Parking is available to the west of the library (Lot P13 on Riordan Ranch Road).

Sharlot Hall Museum is at 415 W. Gurley (two blocks west of Courthouse Plaza). Space at the Prescott lecture series is limited; call 928-445-3122 to inquire about seating. All lectures are free and open to the public.
