Vikings return to the court tonight
The Vikings played Monday night against St. Johns in their last game of the regular season with a huge win against the Redskins, winning Monday's game with a score of Williams 64, St. Johns 46. This makes your Williams Vikings the 2A North Champions for the season.
All members of the Vikes contributed to Monday's big win, according to Coach Denis Kirkley, with Abel Valdez leading the team in scoring with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Teo Toernqvist made 11 points and 8 rebounds, Jake MacDonald with 10 points and 10 rebounds, Enzo Clapper with 9 points and boards, Jon Jon McKinney with 7 points and 2 steals, and Derek Gauna with 4 points, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks and 3 steals for the team.
The boys' varsity overall record stands at 20-6 Williams with a conference record of 11-2 Williams. Eight schools participate in the conference: Camp Verde, Many Farms, Pinon, Red Mesa, Rough Rock, St. Johns, Valley Sanders and Williams.
The Vikings play again tonight in a qualifying game for the regional and state playoffs. The Vikes will host Many Farms for a home game beginning at 7 p.m. Girl's practice will begin at 3:30 p.m., with boy's practice beginning at 5:30 p.m.
