• Two men and a woman, carrying a two-month-old infant and apparently in the most destitute of circumstances, were brought to Williams Saturday by a tourist, who had picked them up this side of Seligman.

The trio contacted Father Joseph Heffner, who took them in and gave them food and enough money for a night's lodging. They secured a room at a downtown lodging house and during the night, reported the infant dead. The infant's death was attributed to malnutrition and it was buried Sunday by the county.

The trio left the city late Sunday via the hitchhiking route and headed east.

• The Williams Lions Club will again sponsor Toys for Tots and weather permitting will place the barrels in a number of locations within a day or two.

Townspeople who have toys their children have outgrown may place them in one of the barrels. Lion members will repair the toys (if they are repairable) and see that they are delivered in time for Christmas to needy children in the community.
