North Kaibab ranger facilities to open soon
Businesses and facilities on the North Kaibab Ranger District will open this weekend, beginning with Jacob Lake Campground on Friday and Kaibab Camper Village at Jacob Lake on Sunday.
Arizona State Highway 67, the North Rim Parkway to Grand Canyon National Park, opens on Monday, as do the North Rim Country Store, gas station and Kaibab Lodge and restaurant at DeMotte Park.
The Kaibab Plateau Visitor Center at Jacob Lake also opens for the season on Monday.
Facilities at the four Arizona Trail trailheads (Boundary, East Rim Viewpoint and Highways 67 and 89A) will open in late May, weather permitting.
Facilities at Indian Hollow Campground will open June 1.
Jacob Lake Inn, restaurant and gas station remain open year-round.
DeMotte Campground remains closed for reconstruction. The district expects to reopen the campground late this summer.
