Lions serving up plenty of pancakes Saturday morning
The Grand Canyon Lions' Club will host its third annual after graduation all-you-can-eat Pancake Breakfast this Saturday, from 7-11 a.m., in the Ramada next to the Rec Center
The menu will feature all-you-can-eat pancakes, as well as sausage, orange juice and coffee. The cost is $5 for adults, $3 for children under 12 and free for those five and under. According to Lion Tony Oaks, all graduating seniors also eat free.
Proceeds go into the Lions' Club scholarship fund, which gave two $2,500 scholarships to Grand Canyon seniors this year. According to Oaks, they raised $500 and hope to double that this year.
The Lions ask the community to come and help celebrate this year's graduating class. Support from the community helps the club continue the annual scholarship program, and makes it possible for the youth of this community to pursue a higher level of education and capture a piece of the American dream.
If you can't attend but would still like to donate, or would like to know more about the Lions, contact Lions President Vicki Oaks at 638-4639.
