Interim superintendent selected
Board accepts Principal Bowling's resignation
The Williams Unified School District Board continues to move forward as administrative staffing begins to change. The board hired Thomas McCraley as interim superintendent last week. McCraley will serve as interim superintendent for up to two years.
McCraley is a former superintendent of the Mingus Unified School District. WUSD Superintendent Susan Scherz' resignation is effective June 30.
The board also accepted the resignation of Williams Elementary-Middle School Principal David Bowling. The resignation is effective June 30. Bowling's contract would not have ended until after the 2005-2006 school year.
"I hope this in no way reflects on the teachers at WEMS because I believe they are outstanding," Bowling said. "I hope it in no way reflects on the students, because they are wonderful. I will sincerely miss everyone here."
The district hired Bowling in May 2002. Prior to that, Bowling had worked as an administrator with the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Leupp since 1995.
