Students share unique view<br>

Colette Aspaas, with two of her works. The top piece, Trio, received the Superintendent’s Award. Cactus Flowers won the grand prize. Below, the third grade class won the environmental prize for their work, Peace City. Students submitted more than 200 pieces for the juried show; 56 will be on display at Kolb Studio until March 21.

The theme this year was “A Canyon Peace.”

Unlike last year’s show, this year’s show was juried by a panel of artists, including Bruce Aiken and Rene Westbrook. About a quarter of the 210 submitted works were accepted into the show, which runs at Kolb Studio through March 21.

“We decided to do the judging process this year,” said Grand Canyon School art teacher Amy McBroom. “It was an honor to be accepted. That’s how the world works.”

Winning students were given art-related prizes as well as certificates.
