Swim free Jan. 19
The Williams Education Association is sponsoring a free swim from 1-4 p.m. Jan. 19 at the Williams Aquatic Center. All regular sessions will not be held on free swim days.
Diabetes group meets tomorrow
The Williams Diabetes Support Group will meet at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Williams Senior Center, 850 W. Grant Ave.
Marilyn McNabb from the Guidance Center will be speaking with dealing with depression and diabetes. Learn how stress raises blood pressure and how to handle stress.
In addition to support, free pamphlets and brochures from the American Diabetes Association will be available.
On Jan. 10, 17 and 24, free classes will be offered on how to live with diabetes. The classes will be held from 1-3 p.m. at the Williams Senior Center. These classes will include an overview of treatment, diet, label reading, eating out, stress, complications, sick day management, monitoring blood sugars and talking to your doctor.
Registered Nurse Sue Sobolowski and diabetes educator from Flagstaff Medical Center will be the speaker. These classes are excellent for newly diagnosed diabetics and those that want a refresher course on diabetes.
