Following is a rundown of events from the Grand Canyon, Tusayan and Valle area for the period of Aug. 4-11.

Wednesday, Aug. 4

6 p.m. – Community Co-Ed Softball, We Cook Pizza vs Grand Canyon School/Albright, Grand Canyon School ballfield.

7-8 p.m. — Alcoholics Anonymous meeting at Kachina Lodge, Kachina room.

Thursday, Aug. 5

6 p.m. – Community Co-Ed Softball, Red Feather vs the Grand, Grand Canyon School ballfield.

Friday, Aug. 6

6 p.m. – Community Co-Ed Softball, GC School/Albright vs the Grand (make-up game), Grand Canyon School ballfield.

7-8 p.m. — Alcoholics Anonymous meeting at Kachina Lodge, Kachina room.

8:15-9:15 p.m. — Al-Anon Family Group meeting at Thunderbird Lodge, Kiva room.

Saturday, Aug. 7

10 a.m.-4 p.m. – Sports and school physicals for Grand Canyon students, Grand Canyon Walk-In Clinic.

Sunday, Aug. 8

4 p.m. – Community Co-Ed Softball, NPS vs the Grand (make-up game), Grand Canyon School ballfield.

6 p.m. – Community Co-Ed Softball, NPS vs Red Feather (make-up game), Grand Canyon School ballfield.

Monday, Aug. 9

6 p.m. – Community Co-Ed Softball, We Cook Pizza vs GC School/Albright (make-up game), Grand Canyon School ballfield.

7-8 p.m. — Alcoholics Anonymous meeting at Kachina Lodge, Kachina room.

Tuesday, Aug. 10

10 a.m. — Alcoholics Anonymous meeting at Grand Canyon Recreation Center, piano room.

Wednesday, Aug. 11

7-8 p.m. — Alcoholics Anonymous meeting at Kachina Lodge, Kachina room.

Ongoing events

“In the Fifth World: Portrait of the Navajo Nation,” exhibit of photographs depicting a broad spectrum of contemporary Navajo life, at Kolb Studio through Oct. 16. The exhibit, based on the book of the same title, features images from across the Navajo Reservation, taken by Kenji Kawano and Adriel Heisey. Sponsored by Grand Canyon Association.

Children’s Reading Circle, Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 1:30 p.m. at Canyon View Information Plaza. Hear a ranger read an interesting story about the Grand Canyon, geared toward youngsters between 2-6. Allow time to walk or take the shuttle bus as parking at nearby Mather Point is limited.
