To be eligible students must have at least a B average, but scholarship is only one aspect – students must also display charactar, leadership and service.
Grand Canyon School superintendent Sheila Breen, who spoke at the ceremony, expounded on these principles, saying an Honor Society member is expected to be “a person of service.”
She also charactarized Honor Society members as leaders and advised, “Leadership is a scary thing. It’s a lot of responsibility. You have to take care of the people you’re leading and the organizations. At times, you’ll doubt yourself. Just step back and take it one day at a time.”
