Softball tourney<br>in full swing

The Grand Canyon Coed Softball League Tournament got under way Thursday and continues this week with the championship scheduled for early next week.

Red Feather Lodge, seeded second in the tournament, opened Thursday with a 26-3 rout of seventh-seeded Grand Hotel. Games were also scheduled for Monday and Tuesday. Those games were played after presstime.

On Monday, fourth-seeded Squire Inn was to play fifth-seeded Delaware North. On Tuesday, third-seeded We Cook Pizza was to play fifth-seeded National Park Service.

Grand Canyon School finished the regular season with a 5-1 record and received a first-round tournament bye as the top-seeded team. The school team is scheduled to play today against the winner of Monday’s Squire-Delaware North game.

The other semifinal game is scheduled for Thursday between Red Feather Lodge and Tuesday’s We Cook Pizza-NPS winner.

The championship was scheduled for Monday, but they may change due to conflict with another event.
