Grand Canyon JV boys<br>continue winning streak
The Grand Canyon High School junior-varsity boys basketball team extended its winning streak to five games last week with victories over Ash Fork and Fredonia.
The Phantoms began the week with a 52-33 win over Ash Fork. Grand Canyon outscored the Spartans by 12 in the third quarter to take control. Juan Davila led with 15 points.
The Phantoms then beat Fredonia, 55-49. Davila scored 16 and Danny Vincent added 11.
Grand Canyon (5-5) hosts Seligman Friday at 4 p.m.
Fredonia girls erupt in 2nd quarter in JV win
The Grand Canyon High School girls basketball team was outscored 20-4 in the second quarter in what turned out to be a 49-26 loss on the road to Fredonia.
The JV Lady Phantoms trailed just 8-6 after the first quarter but the Lynx had taken a 28-12 lead by halftime.
Samantha Stickler, sophomore, scored 10 points in limited action.
Grand Canyon (0-6) will host Seligman Friday at 2:30 p.m.
