Channel ‘12 News Today’ to broadcast live from Williams
As a way to promote northern Arizona, “12 News Today” will be broadcasting live from several locations, including Williams.
“’12 News Today’ will be Cruisin’ Arizona, broadcasting live from Williams on April 30,” a news release from TV station states. “The public is invited to watch the station’s live broadcast in historic downtown Williams, near the Grand Canyon Railway Depot.”
Actually, the TV station, which is partnering with Williams-Grand Canyon Chamber of Commerce, has invited local groups and organizations to participate.
“We want the Mountain Men and the Bill Williams Buckskinners out there,” said Diana Croteau, Chamber office manager. “We want anybody — The Renaissance in the Pines, the ambassadors — to show up. The live show is from 5-7 a.m.”
Grand Canyon Boulevard, between Route 66 and Railroad Avenue will be closed for the event, from 4-7:30 a.m.
“We want the community to turn out and show their support for the spirit of Williams,” Croteau said. “They also want entertainment, too. If anybody is interested in playing music that morning contact me at the chamber.”
Pine Country Restaurant will open at 4 a.m. that day and Pancho McGillicuddy’s will open at 6 a.m.
After the show is completed, audience members will be able to meet Jineane Ford, anchor, and the 12 News crew.

A wild ride through the Grand Canyon.
Starting on April 29, “12 News Today” will begin its series on Arizona sights.
“April 29 – May 3, 12 News wants to show you a few exciting places to visit right here in Arizona that won’t bust your budget,” the news release states. “’12 News Today’ anchor Jineane Ford will visit five Arizona communities within a few hours drive of the Valley.”
Besides Williams, Page and Lake Powell will be featured on April 29. Lake Havasu City will be hit May 1, Sedona on May 2 and the White Mountains on May 3.
