<center>Rangers' Log</center>
During the period of Feb. 16-21, U.S. Park Rangers at Grand Canyon National Park responded to the following incidents:
Saturday, Feb. 16
o A visitor (name, city of residence, sex, age not reported) was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia after being stopped on Desert View Drive for speed. After the stop, rangers discovered a glass pipe with marijuana residue.
o An emergency medical call was taken at Kachina Lodge of a 52-year-old man with difficulty breathing. The man refused treatment.
Sunday, Feb. 17
o Rangers issued a verbal warning to a 28-year-old Grand Canyon man for disorderly conduct/threatening for an incident at Rouzer Hall.
o An emergency medical call was taken at Yavapai Observation Point of a 47-year-old female Amfac bus operator who fainted. The woman was flown to Flagstaff Medical Center.
o Rangers issued warnings for camping in undesignated areas at Hermits Rest, South Entrance sign parking area and the west overlook on Desert View Drive.
o Rangers responded to a request for assistance at the Squire Inn dormitory involving a disturbance.
o Rangers received a medical evacuation request from Supai Village Clinic involving a critical overdose patient. Due to the late hour, the request was referred to Classic Lifeguard.
o Rangers received a report of a hiker appearing confused and lost below Trailview at Toroweap. Investigating rangers observed a subject waving arms overhead as if in distress. A response was initiated, but cancelled after the subject hiked out.
o An emergency medical call was taken at the 1.5-Mile Resthouse on the Bright Angel Trail of a 34-year-old man with severe knee pain. A ranger responded and assisted the man with crutches to the South Rim. The man refused further care after reaching the rim.
Monday, Feb. 18
o An emergency medical call was taken of a 20-year-old woman who swallowed gasoline while attempting to siphon fuel. The woman was transported to Grand Canyon Walk-In Clinic via patrol car.
o Rangers responded to a one-vehicle accident on South Entrance Road. The driver of the vehicle was contacted on Center Road while being given a ride to his residence by a passer-by. Upon arrival at the scene, the vehicle was found rolled over. There were no injuries and no citations were issued.
o An emergency medical call was taken of a 68-year-old man with epistaxis who was difficult to control. The man was treated and referred to a medical facility.
Tuesday, Feb. 19
o Rangers took a report of a 30-year-old woman who was approached and bitten on the leg by two dogs at Powell Point on Feb. 18.
o Rangers responded to a minor motor-vehicle "backing up" accident in the Bright Angel Lodge parking area.
Wednesday, Feb. 20
o John L. Segari, 19, Grand Canyon, was cited for false information and minor in possession of alcohol.
o An emergency medical call was taken on the disable access trail west of Kolb Studio of a 72-year-old man who slipped. The man complained of a sore and scraped knee and was transported to Grand Canyon Walk-In Clinic.
o Rangers took a report of property damage from a 32-year-old man who said his vehicle was damaged while being towed.
o Rangers issued verbal warnings to five people found walking west on the West Rim with camping gear. The group was advised of camping regulations.
o Rangers responded to a report of a man at Victor Annex who was threatening people with a gun. The report was unfounded.
o Rangers responded to a perimeter alarm at Lookout Studio. An exterior door was found blowing in the wind.
o James E. Lyden, 19, Grand Canyon, was cited for minor consumption of alcohol while rangers were investigating a report of four people tearing up the TV room at Rouzer Hall.
Thursday, Feb. 21
o An emergency medical call was taken at the Bright Angel Lodge of a 38-year-old Amfac employee complaining of a severe headache. The man was transported to Grand Canyon Walk-In Clinic.
o Rangers helped reunite separated parties after the reporting party could not find their driver after he left to park the vehicle.
o Lemuel Miller, 27, Grand Canyon, was cited for vandalism.
