Beverly Jean Sanford

Beverly Jean Sanford, 65, died Oct. 29, 2001 at her Slice’O Heaven ranch home in Williams.

She was born Feb. 26,1936 in Vallejo, Calif. She was also a resident of Houston, where she met her husband Gene. They have been residents of Arizona since July of 1974.

The couple and their son, Michael, were food brokers in Arizona until their retirement to Williams in 1995. Mrs. Sanford belonged to the National Food Brokers Association as well as NFBA affiliate associations.

Her greatest joy was her family, her husband, son, daughter and grandchildren. She also enjoyed her churches, missionaries and music. Mrs. Sanford was a longtime member of Dove Valley Christian Church of Glendale and later a member of Canyon Chapel Four Square Church of Williams.

Survivors include Gene, her husband of 48 years; a son Michael Edwin and his wife, Barbara Sanford, of Glendale; a daughter, Lisa Carole and her husband, Bob Commisso of Phoenix; five grandchildren, Jacob Stephen Sanford, Jenna Leigh Sanford, Stephen Anthony Commisso, Robert Domenick Commisso and Kevin Eugene Commisso; a brother, Ernest L. Buchanan Jr. and a sister, Casey Buchanan, both of California.

One son, Stephen Eugene Sanford, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Nov. 2 at Norvel Owens Mortuary Chapel, 914 E. Route 66 in Flagstaff. Visitation will also be at Norvel Owen Mortuary Chapel at 2 p.m. Friday until the time of the service. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Nov. 3 at Paradise Memorial Garden Cemetery, 2724 E. Shea Blvd. in Scottsdale.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Northland Hospice, P.O. Box 997 Flagstaff, AZ 86002 or The American Cancer Society, 2724 Larkin Drive, Flagstaff, AZ 86004.

Arrangements are under the direction of Norvel Owens Mortuary of Flagstaff.
