Arizona Highways

exhibit now at Kolb

GC VILLAGE — “Celebrating our Land, Our People: Arizona Highways’ 75th Birthday” opened as a newest exhibit at Kolb Studio Sunday.

The exhibit features color and black-and-white photographs by top working photographers.

Since its inaugural issue as a road-construction gazette in 1925, Arizona Highways magazine has become known around the world.

Thousands of photographs published over the last 10 years were reviewed to come up with the exhibition’s collection of 76 images.

The exhibition is circulated by the Arizona Commission on the Arts and its park venue is sponsored by Grand Canyon Association and the National Park Service.

The free exhibit will be open daily at Kolb Studio through Jan. 13.

Admission to park

free this weekend

GC VILLAGE — All entrance fees to Grand Canyon National Park and other national parks areas will be waived this coming Veterans Day weekend.

Interior secretary Gale Norton made the announcement last month.

Norton said the move will allow Americans the opportunity to seek solace and inspiration from the nation’s parks, monuments and memorials.

Entrance fees only will be waived from Nov. 10-12. Other fees, such as backcountry, still apply.
