Planes of Fame<br>air display coming
VALLE — The High Country Warbirds Air Display at the Air Museum Planes of Fame in Valle will be June 23-24.
The event, now in its fourth year, is held at the Valle-Grand Canyon Airport and the museum. A new 31,000 square-foot display facility is being completed for the museum. General manager Bob Reed hopes to see the new building completed in time for this year’s air display.
Featured activities over the weekend will be warbird and classic aircraft fly-bys and displays, with warbird backseat flights also being available to the public. Both days kick off with a pancake breakfast hosted by the Valle-Wood Volunteer Fire Department and radio control model aircraft demonstrations by the Mountain Radio Club.
Arts and craft and aero specialists exhibits will also be on display and vendors will be on hand with a variety of aviation memorabilia. Food and drink booths will also be open.
Gates for the High Country Warbirds Air Display will open at 9 a.m. with continuous activities both days over the weekend. Admission will be $8 for adults, $2 for youngsters 11 and under and free for accompanied children under 5.
