During the period of Dec. 20-26, U.S. Park Rangers at Grand Canyon National Park responded to the following incidents:

Wednesday, Dec. 20

• Rangers assisted the Coconino County Sheriff's Office on a domestic violence incident in progress in Camper Village. One subject was arrested and transported to jail in Flagstaff.

Thursday, Dec. 21

• Rangers received a noise complaint at 10:20 p.m. at the Bright Angel guest cabins. Upon arrival, rangers found guests having a party and advised them to be quiet.

Friday, Dec. 22

• Rangers assisted the Coconino County Sheriff's Office in detaining a suspect with a parole violation. Michael P. Robinson was stopped by a ranger and gave a false name and date of birth. Robinson was arrested by the sheriff's office upon their arrival on the scene. Robinson was cited by rangers for giving false information.

• An emergency medical call was taken at Amfac Retail's distribution building of a 37-year-old Grand Canyon man who started to seize and fell backward down stone stairs and cut his head on rocks. The patient continued to seize for about one hour. He was flown to Flagstaff Medical Center.

Saturday, Dec. 23

• An emergency medical call was taken at the back door of Grand Canyon Walk-In Clinic of a 40-year-old man seeking help with impaired vision, speech problem and unexplained jerking of upper torso. The man was escorted into the clinic and later transported to Flagstaff Medical Center per clinic's request.

• An emergency medical call was taken at Yavapai Observation Point of a 39-year-old woman who suffered a ground-level fall. Emergency workers confronted complications with the patient's mental retardation and muscular dystrophy as well as her not being able to speak English. The patient was transported to Grand Canyon Walk-In Clinic.

• A woman (age and residence not reported) was cited for allegedly selling beads at Yavapai Observation Point. The woman was a repeat offender.

• Rangers responded to a motor-vehicle accident involving a Fred Harvey bus backing into a vehicle. The vehicle hit by the bus hit a park visitor and knocked that person to the ground. No other information was available.

• An emergency medical call was taken at Trailer Campground of a man (no age reported) in pain with possible kidney stones. The patient was transported to Flagstaff Medical Center.

• Rangers transported a dog to the Grand Canyon Kennels after it was found at Grandview by visitors. The owner was out of town.

Sunday, Dec. 24

• An emergency medical call was taken at Maswik Lodge of a 61-year-old woman complaining of a rapid pulse. The patient, who had a previous cardiac history, was stable upon arrival. She was transported to Flagstaff Medical Center.

• An emergency medical call was taken on the Kaibab Trail of a 57-year-old woman who fell backward off a mule. The accident occurred three-fourths of a mile down the trail. The patient complained of shoulder pain, but was not transported out.

• An emergency medical call was taken at the back door of Grand Canyon Walk-In Clinic of a 63-year-old man experiencing difficulty breathing. The man, who had a history of environmental allergies, was transported to Flagstaff Medical Center.

• An emergency medical call was taken in the Bright Angel Lodge parking lot of a 33-year-old woman having an asthma attack. The patient refused treatment.

• Rangers contacted park visitors who were feeding a coyote in the Yavapai Observation Point parking lot. Rangers reported that the coyote appeared quite comfortable in the presence of humans.

• A Grand Canyon resident (no age reported), was cited for disorderly conduct after rangers were called to Victor Annex for a possible fight in progress. Upon arrival, rangers heard someone screaming and hitting something in a room. The subject caused abrasions to his knuckles on his left hand. Rangers reported he was extremely intoxicated and uncooperative and was asked several times to lower his voice, but allegedly refusing.

• Alison Begay, 18, Farmington, N.M., was cited for minor consumption of alcohol. Rangers contacted Begay in a hallway at Colter Hall following a report of a female vomiting. Rangers found her to be very intoxicated and issued the citation.

Monday, Dec. 25

• Two Grand Canyon residents (ages not reported) were cited for disorderly conduct after they were involved in a physical altercation at Victor Hall. Earlier in the evening, one of the men had allegedly threatened the other in the Bright Angel kitchen.

• Rangers responded to a motor-vehicle accident on East Rim Drive. A 1997 Chevrolet Tahoe slid off the road a struck a tree near Buggeln Hill. There were no injuries. The driver did not know how to put his vehicle into four-wheel drive.

• Rangers responded to a motor-vehicle accident near Grandview. A 1996 Honda Accord slid off the road near there. There were no injuries.

• An emergency medical call was taken at the Yavapai cafeteria of a 20-year-old woman who was feeling dizzy. The patient refused treatment.

• Emergency workers responded to a report of a dumpster fire in Boulder alley.

• Rangers responded to a single-vehicle accident on East Rim Drive. The vehicle was traveling eastbound near the bottom of Buggeln Hill when the operator lost control over ice, left the shoulder and rolled the vehicle once. There were no injuries.

• Rangers took a report of burglary from the Maswik Lodge. The occupants had approximately $3,390 worth of items stolen from the room.

• An emergency medical call was taken at the El Tovar Hotel of a 48-year-old woman complaining of vomiting, nausea and diarrhea. No further information provided.

Tuesday, Dec. 26

• Rangers responded to a single-vehicle injury accident on East Rim Drive. One patient was transported by Medic 8 and another patient flown to Flagstaff Medical Center via a National Park Service helicopter.

• Rangers took a report from an anonymous visitor of a man with a gun in the area of Maswik Transportation Center. The caller stated the man was white, 6 feet tall, wore a red cap, blue coat and blue jeans and was seen traveling south with a rifle. The reporting person disconnected the phone call when asked their name. A check of the area found nothing.
