Tyler Cole Bowdon

Tyler Cole Bowdon, 21, of Prescott, died Dec. 6, 2000. He was born July 7, 1979 in Flagstaff.

Mr. Bowdon worked as an equipment operator at an excavating company. He enjoyed music, playing the guitar, skateboarding and cooking.

Survivors include his parents Thomas and Lea Bowdon of Williams and Susan Bowdon of Prescott; three sisters, Tracey Adcock of Prescott, Cassi Bowdon of Sedona and Dara Bowdon of Williams; two brothers, Troy Bowdon of Prescott and Beau Bowdon of Williams; and his grandfather, Gene Campbell of Williams. Funeral services were held Dec. 12 at the Community United Methodist Church in Williams with burial following at Williams Cemetery.

Hazel Irene Bowman

Hazel Irene Bowman, 80, of Ash Fork died Dec. 6, 2000 in Flagstaff.

Mrs. Bowman was born May 1, 1920 in Oklahoma City. She married Jack Horner in 1943. The couple moved to Yavapai County in 1949. Mrs. Bowman raised nine children in Arizona. She loved to read everything from mysteries and science fiction to medical books. Mrs. Bowman was an avid fisherwoman, bringing in her share of trout and catfish. She was an accomplished seamstress, sewing clothes for her family as well as working on beautiful quilts.

Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by her husband, John; a son, Robert Horner; and a brother, Kenneth.

Survivors include five sons, James Horner and Jack Horner, both of Ash Fork, Jerry Horner of Cordes Junction, John Horner of Salinas, Calif. and Joe Horner of Kent, Ohio; three daughters, Ruby Donna of Mississippi, Bonnie Mastas of Williams and Barbara Bouchet of Cordes Junction; a sister, Ruth Covington of Colorado; 18 grandchildren and 36 great-grand children.

Visitation was held Dec. 10 at the Baptist Church in Ash Fork. Graveside services followed at Ash Fork Cemetery.

Wanda Campbell

Wanda Campbell, 69, died Dec. 6, 2000 in Seligman. She was born Jan. 13, 1931 in Seligman, the daughter of Howard and Jessie Lee Murphy Beyard.

Mrs. Campbellā€™s mother was the Seligman postmaster. Her father worked for the railroad. Mrs. Campbell graduated from Seligman High School and attended Arizona State Teachers College (Northern Arizona University) for two years. In 1954, she married local rancher Hugh Campbell.

Mrs. Campbell was very active in St. Francis Catholic Church where she was organist for many years. She also was instrumental in building the new church. Mrs. Campbell had been employed as Yavapai County Clerk.

Survivors include her husband, Hugh Campbell; a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Charles Moss of Reno, Nev.; a son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Vivian Campbell of Seligman; and four grandchildren. No funeral services are planned.

Raul Zabala

Raul Zabala, 74, a longtime Williams resident, died Dec. 6, 2000 at the Williams Health Care Center following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Zabala was born March 19, 1926 to Jose and Pilar Zabala in Carrizo Springs, Texas and lived in the Williams area for the past 45 years. He worked mainly in rock quarries and as a pulp wood logger.

Mr. Zabala was preceded in death by six children, Raul Zabala, Brenda Zabala, Maria Zabala, Andrea Zabala, Joe Zabala and Raul Zabala as well as by four grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Lora; three daughters, Pilar White of Minnesota, Dolores Faultner of Williams and Lora Austin of Chino Valley; three sons, Pedro Zabala, Martin Zabala and Carlos Zabala all of Williams; 20 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Dec. 9 at 2 p.m. at Stewart Chapel with burial following in Williams Cemetery.
