Officers with the Williams Police Department (WPD) logged the following reports from April 12-17.

Thursday, April 13

• Irene D. Hessinger, 50, of Paris, Tenn., was arrested for allegedly stealing a bank bag containing cash from behind a counter at Killinsworth Texaco, 999 N. Grand Canyon Blvd., around 10:36 p.m. Police were dispatched to the business after a man and woman departed from the store and the clerk determined a bank bag was missing. The clerk reportedly was counting money when a man and woman entered the store wanting to purchase beer. The clerk had to leave the counter for a price check at the beer cooler, while a woman remained standing at the counter. The clerk returned to the counter, and the woman left in a hurry without making a purchase. After the man and woman drove away, the clerk realized the bank bag had been taken. Police were given a description of the suspect vehicle, which was located at a local motel. Further investigation led to the suspect’s arrest and recovery of most of the stolen cash. Hessinger was booked into Coconino County Jail on a charge of theft.

Saturday, April 15

• J. Fairfield, 21, of Ash Fork was arrested and charged with DUI/alcohol and furnishing liquor to an underage person following a traffic stop in the 2400 block of West Route 66 at 9:22 p.m. Haase (full name not listed), of Ash Fork, was cited and released on a charge of liquor consumption while underage in connection with the stop.

• A 15-year-old Williams boy was referred to juvenile court for allegedly stealing money out of a purse while working at a local restaurant. The theft was reported at 11:52 p.m., by the owner of the purse, who also works at the restaurant.

Sunday, April 16

• Suspicious juveniles were observed in a drainage ditch at 4:16 p.m. Police determined that one of the juveniles was applying graffiti in the area. The juvenile’s mother was contacted, and the case was under investigation as of April 18.

• A retired Montreal, Canada police officer contacted WPD at 6:10 p.m. and reported that his wallet, containing a police badge and ID, was missing. The wallet was last seen in the victim’s vehicle while parked in the 200 block of West Railroad Avenue. The retired officer called back a short time later and reported that his wallet had been located.

• A 19-year-old New Zealand man was questioned by police after a Henderson, Nev. woman reported seeing a man fitting his description exposing himself to juveniles in a swimming pool at Fairfield Inn, 1029 N. Grand Canyon Blvd. Police responded to the hotel at 10:11 p.m. after the woman told the front desk clerk about the incident. The woman told police she took her daughters to the swimming pool and while they were in the pool, a naked man walked up to the window while inside his room. The complainant said the man was visible to the juveniles in the pool, but she told the juveniles not to look toward him. A 12-year-old girl indicated to police that she did observe the man’s genitals while he was standing at the window. Police interviewed witnesses including three other guests who were in the room with the alleged suspect, who denied that the suspect was totally nude. The suspect told police that he was wearing swim trunks and wanted to go swimming. He said he walked to the window to see whether or not the spa was occupied. The suspect denied that he was ever totally nude while standing in the window. The case was referred to the Coconino County Attorney’s office for review.

Monday, April 17

• Williams police assisted Child Protective Services with a child welfare check at a residence on East Fulton Avenue at 11:45 a.m. The investigation revealed suspicion of domestic violence, and the case was under investigation as of April 18.
