Letter to the editor: Grand Canyon Renaissance Park evolving
As work on the park continues, the basic plan for the Renaissance Park is evolving.
After many meetings with the board, creative team, investment hunter, potential investors and architect, we have decided to expand on our event, concert and conference concept more. We have already been approached by several groups about bringing their events to town and using our facility. We will have a castle and castle yard with stages, a reception hall, a pub and lodging that includes two suites and 10 rooms.
We will still offer the Grand Canyon Renaissance Experience, but will be focusing additionally on events such as concerts, weddings, festivals, business conferences and workshops. This will broaden our appeal for the Grand Canyon traveler, the music fan, large and small weddings and business travelers.
Williams does not currently have a facility with all the amenities we can provide for large music events and festivals, weddings and business conferences. It will also give us the opportunity to work with our community partners like the Grand Canyon Railway, Bearizona and the city of Williams to make business travelers and event goers at home. As the facility grows, we have discussed the addition of an exhibit hall in our plans for future expansion.
Peace and huzzah,
Mark Worden
