On June 8 a Big Brothers Big Sisters golf tournament will be held at the Elephant Rocks Golf Course to benefit local and regional work with the organization.
“We will have several teams participating, it’s more of a fun event – it’s a charity golf event,” said Randall Moore, president of the board of directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flagstaff (BBBSF). “We do a lot of good out there in the community and we are hoping to grow our program in both school based and community based mentoring programs (in Williams).
BBBSF operates in both Williams and Flagstaff, and has multiple programming opportunities, which help youth grow into healthy, productive adults.
“We are very much looking forward to this event, and hope that through it, we enhance valuable relationships with the city of Williams, it’s businesses, and residents,” Moore said.
Moore said the mission of BBBSF is to help children succeed by matching them with appropriate adult mentors.
“Our vision is to provide a Big Brother or Big Sister relationship for any child who needs or wants one,” he said.
The annual golf tournament is one of six fundraising events held each year to raise money for programming.
“We are proud to be hosting this year’s tournament in Williams, AZ at the Elephant Rocks Golf Course,” Moore said.
For those who would like to participate in this year’s golf tournament, supporters may sign up their teams by calling (928) 774-0649 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Team entry fees are $500 for a foursome, or $125 for an individual. Entry fees include golf, cart fees, gift bag, prizes and contests, lunch at 12:30, and a post event awards ceremony.
Moore said there are a variety of ways to support Big Brother Big Sisters in addition to team participation. Supporters may purchase tee sponsors for $100, flag sponsors for $150, or donate raffle items for our event-day raffle. More information is available at http://www.flagstaffbigs.org/golf-tournament.
