Williams Vikings baseball shuts down Ganado 14-1

WILLIAMS, Ariz. - The Williams Vikings hit the road to face Camp Verde and Ganado, and then headed to the River Valley Tournament this week.

The Vikings faced a tough Camp Verde team March 4 and finished with a 2-6 loss to the Cowboys. Christian Ramirez and Sheldon Racher led from the mound. Ramirez pitched four innings and had three strikeouts, five hits, two runs and one walk. Racher pitched two innings and had three walks, one hit and four runs.

Francisco Ortiz, Ethan Johnson, Frankie Kramer and Racher each had a hit, with Johnson pulling in one RBI.

Behind the pitching of Sheldon Racher, the Vikings had 10 hits to Ganado's five and pulled off a 14-1 win March 8.

Racher was the player of the game pitching all six innings with 10 strike-outs and only three walks. He also only allowed two stolen bases.

Christian Ramirez led the offense going three for four at the plate with two RBIs and one run scored. Ethan Johnson followed going two for four with three RBIs and three runs scored. Zack Perkins went one for four and had two RBIs and three runs scored. Ashton Johnson, Francisco Ortiz, and Racher each added two runs for the Vikings. Frankie Kramer also added a run.

The Vikings played at the River Valley Tournament March 10-12 and Fredonia March 15 and will play Red Mesa on March 17 before heading home to face Alchesay at 4 p.m. March 22.
