Vikings battle cold to beat Mogollon and Telesis Prep

WILLIAMS, Ariz. - The Williams Vikings and Lady Vikes battled the cold last week to take home three wins for the baseball and softball programs.

The Vikings baseball team faced Mogollon March 29 and dominated in an 18-8 win for the Vikings. Viking player Sheldon Racher was selected as player of the game going three for four with six RBIs, a double and one home run.

Tate Grantham, Ashton Johnson and Christian Ramirez went two for four with Ramirez hitting one home run.

Frankie Kramer went one for three with three RBIs.

The Vikings faced Telesis Prep March 31 and brought home a 12-0 win. Ramirez was selected player of the game pitching five innings with 12 strike-outs.

Kramer went two for two, with one RBI. Michael McNelly, Diego Pedraza and Grantham went one for two with McNelly and Grantham bringing in one RBI each.

Johnson and Carston Brinkworth went two for four with one RBI each.

The Vikings are now 9-9 on the season.

The Lady Vikes softball team endured the cold temperatures to beat Mogollon 23-17 March 29 at home. They are now 4-6 on the season.

The Lady Vikes play Mingus Mountain at 4 p.m. April 7 at home. The Lady Vikes and Vikings play Mohave Accelerated at 4 p.m. April 12 at home.
