Bingo starts in Ash Fork

The American Legion, Post 57, Ash Fork is glad to announce that bingo will resume at the American Legion Post at 47006 N. Third Street, Ash Fork. Bingo will be on the second and fourth Sundays of each month.

Doors open at noon and games begin at 1 p.m. Single game sheets are $1 and packet of 10 games are $10. More information is available from the American Legion Post at (928) 637-2254.

Special needs screenings available for WUSD preschoolers

Throughout the school year, Williams Unified School District will conduct screenings for 3-5-year-old children to identify those with special needs.

Any preschooler who is having difficulty with vision, hearing, communication, coordination and movement, adaptive living skills, social skills or learning is recommended for screening. District special education staff will further evaluate children showing significant problems in any of these areas. Determining eligibility for special education begins with the Child Find screening and may be extended to include a developmental and psycho-educational evaluation.

Parents should bring a certified copy of their child's birth certificate and immunization records to the screening. More information and appointments are available from Ms. Ford at (928) 635-4428, ext. 316.

Kiwanis seeks craft fair vendors

The Williams Kiwanis Club is seeking vendors for its first "Gateway to the Grand Canyon Arts and Crafts Fair" May 16-17.

The fair will be at the rodeo grounds on Rodeo Road. On May 16 the fair will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on May 17 the fair will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Kiwanis will sell lunch on May 16, breakfast on May 17 and drinks and desserts on both days.

Vendors must display handmade or significantly embellished items, not commercial or food items. Kiwanis has 36 10 x 10 foot indoor vendor spaces available for $60 and unlimited outdoor spaces available for $50.

Applications are due by May 1. Those who submit applications and pay by March 1 will receive a $10 discount on the vendor fee.

This fair is a fundraiser for the Williams Kiwanis Club with all proceeds from vendor rent, food/drink sales and auction items to benefit Williams area children through scholarships and other activities.

Fire Department seeks to help those without smoke alarms

The Williams Fire Department would like to help anyone that is need of a CO2 alarm, smoke alarm or fire extinguisher for residents' homes. Those who are in need may contact Williams City Hall at (928) 635-4451.

TOPS Chapter 0541 now meeting at health clinic

The Williams TOPS Chapter 0541 now meets in the conference room at North Country HealthCare Clinic, 301 S. Seventh St., at 5:30 p.m. every Thursday. More information is available from Patty Hukes at (928) 699-2122.

VFW Ladies Auxiliary accepting new members

The Matthew James Broehm Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 12128 in Williams is seeking new members for the Ladies Auxiliary. Current members of another post are welcome to transfer. New members must have served in a foreign war or qualify through eligible family members. The post meets every second Thursday of the month at 117 W. Route 66, Suite 190 in Williams.
