Williams 911: week of Dec. 24

The Williams Police Department (WPD) answered the following calls for service (among others) -

• Officers responded to a property damage hit and run on Seventh Street. A car ran a stop sign damaging the front end of another car;

• Officers responded to a domestic call after a child had an argument with their parent;

• Officers issued a verbal warning for a car going the wrong way on Railroad Avenue and Second Street;

• Officers issued a verbal warning for a car going the wrong way on Route 66 and Third Street;

• Officers responded to an open gate at the shooting range. Officers found the lock had been cut;

• Officers investigated an overworked carriage horse with a runny nose and determined the runny nose was normal;

• Officers responded to a drunk man at a local bar who would not leave, officers took him home;

• Officers responded to a drunk man sleeping on a park bench on Fulton Avenue, the man was sent home;

• Officers responded to a mistaken 911 call;

• Officers responded to a 911 hang up call on Homestead Avenue;

• Officers issued a verbal warning for speeding on Route 66;

• Officers issued a verbal warning for failure to yield the right of way on Route 66;

• Officers responded to a call about child abuse/aggravated assault of a child by their parent, Child Protective Services was notified and the child was taken to Flagstaff Medical Center for medical screening;

• Officers responded to criminal damage to a vehicle on Edison Avenue;

• Officers responded to burglary of a car on Edison Avenue;

• Officers responded to theft from a local convenience store;

• Officers responded to burglary of a vehicle on Edison Avenue, suspect was identified;

• Officers arrested a woman for vehicle burglaries, criminal damage of a vehicle and theft from a local convenience store. During the arrest, the woman fought with officers and was found to have drug paraphernalia, dangerous drugs (meth) and marijuana on her person, she was booked on all charges, including aggravated assault on officers.

• Officers arrested a man for a valid warrant on Railroad Avenue;

• Officers arrested a man for extreme DUI on Grand Canyon Boulevard;

• Officers investigated a non-injury accident on Lakeview Drive;

• Officers took a sexual contact with a child report, the case is under investigation;

• Officers issued a verbal warning after they responded to a disturbance on Morse Avenue, the people involved were separated;

• Officers responded to a domestic call on Second Avenue, a verbal warning was issued and the people involved were separated;

• Officers responded to a domestic call on Edison Avenue, a verbal warning was issued and the people involved were separated;

• Officers investigated non-injury deer versus vehicle accident on Cataract Road;
