At the Dec. 3 Williams Unified School District Governing Board meeting, board members and district staff recognized Alyssa Dennison and Albert "Bud" Parenteau for their service as their terms come to an end on Dec. 31. Board members also voted to name the auditorium at Williams Elementary-Middle School the Parenteau Auditorium in recognition of Parenteau's 40 years of service on the board. According to the Arizona School Boards Association, districts can consider names derived from worthy individuals who have made a unique contribution to the district. Board members and staff presented Parenteau with an artist's rendering of the front of the auditorium. Lettering will be installed in the spring and district staff plans to have a ribbon cutting at that time. Above: Dennison (left) and fellow board member Thomas Ross (right) congratulate Parenteau.
